Captain Miserable: In the good old days of Comedy Central (about 2-3 years ago), before they turned into “The Carlos Mencia/Blue Collar 24/7 Channel,” there was a wonderful little show called Insomniac. Comedian Dave Attell would visit cities and see what happens in the late night and wee hours of the morning like hanging out at truck stops, drinking a lot in bars with the regulars and of course, spinning tunes in low-rent strip clubs in Portland. It was simple, slice-of-life amusement hosted by a brilliant comedian. Want to feel better about yourself, watch Captain Miserable’s new special on HBO where he tackles the important topics of the day:
- Why you shouldn’t drink too much Jägermeister
- His visit to the Middle East
- The “accidental” death of “the Crocodile Hunter”
- Global warming
- “Fat dreams” about new soups
Captain Miserable premieres Sat., December 8 at 10 pm ET/PT. Check out this video preview.
