Beloved Saint Attacked! Michelangelo drew scary monsters, who knew? (via Metafilter)

Lovely Ruins: Abandoned Britain! is a website housing some cool (creepy and oddly majestic) photos of what man creates then leaves behind. I love this stuff.  “Britain is a country dotted with the decaying ruins from its past. The face of the country has seen great changes moving away form its industrial past, towards a new and less certain future. The buildings and institutions that belong to another era have been left to rot, alone and forgotten.” Also check out the Maunsell Sea Forts.

Jules Stills Needs a Hug: Juliana Hatfield  has the voice of an angel, a beautiful tormented angel. Listen to her new Daytrotter Session.

Save Paste! Russ and Todd like Paste Magazine, if you do too, you might be interested in saving it. (I’m still smarting from the demise of Punk Planet.)

Good Design: I love me the Nettuts+! Simply put, it’s “a site aimed at web developers and designers offering tutorials and articles on technologies, skills and techniques to improve how you design and build websites. We cover HTML, CSS, Javascript, CMS’s, PHP and Ruby on Rails.” I now have 63 tutorials I plan on doing once I finish this update, promise.

Enjoy: Iron and Wine posted a full album stream of their new b-sides collection Around the Well.  Quite lovely!

World’s Tallest Man Update: Zhao Liang needs two beds to rest his 8ft, 1inch frame. FYI Ladies, he’s single.

Like an iPod, but Ugly: Hey retro nerds, the Sony Walkman is back! This is totally gonna kick some Zune ass.

“My Fridge is so Cool!” “Well, It should be.” “No, no, I mean cool cool!” “Oh…” Photoshop and Illustrator Magnets

UsedWigs Live! On the evening of Friday, June 12th, UsedWigs Radio will be recording it’s first LIVE show at MilkBoy Mainstage in Ardmore, PA. The stage show will combine elements of our audio show with a fun late night talk show vibe. Please come out, lots and lots of free stuff for you and only you! Save the Date, more details to come.

Kult Kurt Classics: Geekadelphia deservedly gives props to:  Big Trouble in Little China Extended! Comes to Blu-Ray. It’s a blast. Need more Kurt Russell goodness? 1980′s  “Used Cars” is another winner. I remember watching this movie with my Dad on HBO back in the day and both of us laughing up a storm.  My Pop bought his share of previously-owned vehicles. I think that’s where I got the “I could give a crap about cars” mentality I still proudly possess.

“Whatever Works” Doesn’t Work: When I check out Apple Trailers and see a film description that starts with “An eccentric New Yorker,” I usually stop right there, gag a bit and then move on to the next film. Unfortunately, I watched the trailer for “Whatever Works” – which stars Larry David playing the “Woody Allen” character almost as badly as Ed Norton did a few years back — and it was a bit worse than I expected. It’s basically David’s “Curb Your Enthusiam” character with and a lot more forced energy and heaps of cringey “How did I get in this mess!” gesticulation.  Don’t worry pervs fans, Woody has kepthis requisite inappropriately young love interest for the whiny old man.  Sexy!
