Great Show: infoMania

Way up in the high numbers on your cable box lives Current TV. It’s a  good channel for short-attention span people with a conscience who are interested in politics, the environment, technology and the like. The majority of their programming is user-generated content called “pods,” a pretty cool idea.

Current TV is the perfect channel to flip on between shows, so if you enjoy ingesting 5 minutes of Chinese pollution knowledge between episodes of “Little People, Big World,” this channel is for you.

At times, I do find the overall presentation of the channel a bit too slick and the majority of their hosts look and act like Gap models, especially these two fellas, they’re a bit creepy. Don’t get me wrong, I have no problem with handsome folks (I was one once), they all just need to loosen up a bit and knock the gravitas level down a notch or two.

The shining star of the network is infoMania, a solid half hour of fast-paced and extremely funny pop culture news and commentary hosted with a deft touch by Conor Knighton. Tune in on Thursdays at 10pm after The Office/30 Rock power hour and enjoy some quality laughs like these:

Viral Video Film School – Brett Erlich is a very funny man:

Sergio’s White Hot Top 5 – Sergio, also very very funny:

Target Women – Sarah Haskins, love her!

Cewebrity Profile – Ben Hoffman, love him too.
