Horrible People

With so few good ideas and roles available, many of your favorite indie comedians and comedic actors have sought refuge from the giant Hollywood movie machine on the good old Internet and are creating some quality shorts films and series.

Case in point, I just stumbled upon My Damn Channel and the subtly funny soap opera parody “Horrible People” featuring a stellar cast of comedians including Kristen Schaal (Flight of the Conchords), our pal Joe Lo Truglio (Superbad, The State) and the always-hysterical A.D. Miles (think Pretty in Pink era Andrew McCarthy, only with better hair).

Besides sending up soaps, Horrible People also feels like the first 5 minutes of many Law and Order episodes where the detached, overly dramatic acting usually borders on comedy. If you miss preppy murderer Robert Chambers being in the news and other tawdry elitist escapades, this show is for you.
