Movie Review: Lady in the Water

Rating: AWFUL

Believe every critic who took joy in bashing this film to bits, this thing blew. In a egomaniacal move of epic proportions, M Night casts himself as the "writer who will save the world." Doesn't he realize that's Mitch Albom's calling? Geez. Opie Cunnighman's alabaster daughter plays some sort of otherworldly being who lives in a motel pool and is being chased by a silly grass-covered dog... no shit, stay with me... and perennial sad sack extraordinaire, Paul Giamatti, tries to save her with the help the other banal motel denizens. Unlike his usual offerings, this mild mess is completely devoid of cool twists and a sense of urgency. It's just a ho-hum, clumsy kids tale with a very expected and happy ending. M. Night needs to take a giant piss and get over the "water" theme he loves so much.
