Movie Trailer Review: The Curious Case of Benjamin Button

Remember on “Mork & Mindy” when the writers had that really bad idea and made Mork give birth to a 6-feet-tall, 50-year-old obese adult played by Jonathan Winters? I do, and boy was it creepy. Oddly enough, that’s pretty much the plot of this new Brad Pitt film:

This movie tells the story of the life of Benjamin Button, a man who is born physically old and ages backwards as he gets older, all the while trying to gain a woman’s love who ages normally.

This film looks stupid. And annoying. And cloying. And I’ve definitely had my fill of Cate Blanchett (apologies to her fans, all you women and gay guys).

Spoiler Alert: When Benjamin Button turns one, Angelina Jolie adopts him. He dies a year later. Sad.

  1. You know if your last little paragraph about Angelina adopting Ben Button wasn’t so dang funny, I would be ticked about your Cate Blanchett comment.

Have to admit, that was hilarious.

  2. Thanks Tim! I realized I would anger Blanchett Fans, much like I did when I called for the removal of Helen Hunt from all movies back in the early 00s. Overexposure can be harmful one’s career.

  3. Hahah, best spoiler ever.

I dunno though, I think this movie is going to be fantastic. David Fincher(Fight Club? Seven? Zodiac?) directing a movie based on an F Scott Fitzgerald story? Sounds like a win to me.
