The Food Network is looking for the “Next Food Network Star” and will be casting in Philly on October 29th, 2008 from 10am-3pm.
I’m a big fan of the show and was very happy for Camden’s Aaron McCargo, Jr., who won last season and got himself a fine show on the network. The other finalist was Philly boy Adam Gertler, he did okay for himself too. We even warmed up to Miss Garza, our favorite Vulcan, after a few episodes. It’s a fun show.
So what type of “foodie” is the network looking for?
Our Advice: Look exactly like Giada De Laurentiis and dress exactly like Giada De Laurentiis while cooking and you should do fine.
Their Advice:
Essentially, we are looking for people who are passionate about cooking, and knowledgeable about food, to meet us in person at our Open-Call. Most people think, for some reason, that they do not have what it takes to be on TV – but those are sometimes the best candidates for the show. We do not know who or what we are looking for until that person comes to us with their story.
Where: Embassy Suites Hotel- Philadelphia- Center City, 1776 Benjamin Franklin Parkway, Philadelphia, PA 19107. The Casting open call will be on the 28th floor of the hotel.
