Episode 3: The Clown from Unemployed Sidekick.

The men at 5A Films (Bryan O’Connell, Matthew Pollock, and Creighton DeSimone) are back with some more super goodness:

When sidekick Raven gets fired by his superhero partner he swears off crime fighting and tries to assimilate into every day society, but will his past let him? Follow Raven in his weekly comedic adventures and enter a world of heroes, villains, tights, and pixies boots.

Each episode is only a minute, perfect for your ever-dwindling attention span (start at Episode One). Like most of the stuff I’ve seen from the 5A fellas, it’s the small touches that mean a lot, like Raven’s way-too-tight custom, his red alert phone home that he takes with him after he gets fired and all the little nods and snipes at comic book cliches. Good stuff! It’s also very relatable to many in this tough economy. If you ever fought crime for a living and lost that job, it really stinks. Looking forward to a LinkedIn episode.

(No? anyway…) A couple weeks back I saw a promo for the comedy “Graduates” and really dug it and had high hopes for the full-length pilot. Well kids, Uncle Jeff just watched it (twice) and I’m happy to report that it rocked: clever, funny, awkward, goofy and sexy rolled up in a very well-paced, well-produced and well-shot package. It has FX Network written all over it, maybe paired with Always Sunny?

(Geez, it looked so natural in the video, who would have thunk it). I’m speechless yet overjoyed watching this. “Why can’t we just be honest? When I get to work from home… one day, I hope… I’ll just send an email to all with the subject line: ‘Playing EverQuest all day, with an occasional masturbation break, don’t you dare interrupt me.’”
