If you enjoy gawking at functional and stylish workplaces as much as I do, workalicious is well worth your time wasting. Architect Gregory La Vardera discusses “workplace design, furniture, implements, and culture” of all types and even featured our pals at Primer Microstudio. The site has lots of photos that should inspire if you’re looking to design or redesign your own workspace.

I had a pretty slick home office setup… once — spartan and clean, matching Ikea two-desk config, one for my Mac and one for my PC, all cords hidden, accessories and peripherals all nicely situated in a very practical and soothing manner — then I had kids.

My ever-shrinking home office “area” now shares space in the basement with the toddler’s toys and art and the baby’s swings and jumping contraptions. A giant pink tent has encroached on the once-capacious desk area while crayons, crumbs and other kiddie collectibles have taken up residence on my printer, scanner and pretty much on every inch of my table tops. I’m also down about 6 Homestar figures… hopefully they will find their way home some day.
