Some films pay homage to classics in the genre with subtle nods and a reference or two; others blatantly rip off every single idea from a bunch of movies and repackage them into one steaming pile of banality. Doomsday is so derivative, so unoriginal, you might think it is a high-end spoof of all the popular futuristic zombie/thriller/action films of late. If you liked Mad Max, 28 Days Later, Children of Men, Resident Evil and the classic Escape from New York, but would rather watch them all at once with less interesting characters, this dreck’s for you:
