Very Good Power Pop Songs

The term “power pop” is a bit silly and I always cringe a bit when I say it but sadly, it is probably the best description for this style of music bursting with big melodic hooks. If you need a primer on the genre I suggest you check in with the Power Pop Pop Pop.
I would not consider myself a big fan of true power pop bands but I do love the hell out of a lot of power pop gems from the past 40 years. Here are my faves and before you nerds yell at me, some songs are not necessarily performed by power pop artists. Feel free to chime in with your own favorites.
